Mitacs visiting Student

I am a final year Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) student at the University of Manitoba with a Mitacs Globalink research internship from Indus University, Pakistan, in the AIRE Lab. I have experience in clinical rehabilitation, patient assessment and evidence-based practice through my academic background in physical therapy. During my undergraduate coursework, I have participated in various research projects, academic events, workshops and community health projects, enhancing my communication, teamwork and research abilities.

I'm getting great experience at AIRE Lab doing rehabilitation research, and learning about how innovative technologies can be applied to health care. This experience has enriched my understanding of the importance of research and technology in rehabilitation improvements. I intend to pursue a Masters' degree to further my skills in rehabilitation research and help make a positive and patientled impact on healthcare

Mitacs visiting Student 

I am a third-year Doctor of Physical Therapy student at The University of Faisalabad, Pakistan, originally from Sudan, and currently joining the AIRE Lab at the University of Manitoba as a Mitacs Globalink Research Intern. My background in physical therapy has developed my interest in rehabilitation and in understanding how research can contribute to better patient care. My experiences across different communities and countries have also shaped my interest in accessible and inclusive healthcare.

At the AIRE Lab, I am gaining hands-on experience in rehabilitation research and exploring how innovative technologies can support functional recovery and patient care. I am particularly interested in rehabilitation, digital health, telerehabilitation, and technology-assisted approaches to healthcare. Through this experience, I hope to develop my research skills and explore ways to make rehabilitation more accessible, patient-centred, and adaptable to different healthcare settings.
